FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 

What do I wear? 
For Physiotherapy: Please be prepared to undress to underwear to enable the clinician to fully assess posture and movements. Bring a pair of shorts if required. Dignity will be maintained at all times. 
 
For Pilates: Comfortable clothing to allow for freedom of movement, ideally without zips and buttons which can damage some equipment. 
How long is the session? 
60 minutes for all classes unless otherwise stated. The individual sessions can be 30 or 45 minutes, depending on your needs. 
Is there wheel-chair access for physiotherapy treatment? 
Yes: for standard wheel-chairs only. 
How big are the Pilates classes? 
Small groups, depending on the venue, please check beforehand. Limited to 6 in one venue, 8 – 10 in another venue; this allows for closer supervision and correction as necessary. 
What happens in I miss a class? 
Classes cannot be refunded but all efforts will be made to fit you in to another class, if there is availability and as long as sufficient notice of non-attendance is given. 
Can I claim for physiotherapy treatment through my insurance scheme? 
It is always best to check with your insurance company that your physiotherapist is a provider and how your policy may differ with respect to the allowances and excess. Jackie is registered with most UK insurance companies. 
 
Claims can only be made for physiotherapy treatment, not for any additional products e.g. tape, lumbar support, resistance bands. 
Can I claim for Pilates classes? 
No, the Pilates classes are paid for on a private basis. Note - section on fees. 
 
Jackie maintains appropriate Professional and Public liability Insurance for conducting Pilates classes. 
Do I need to bring anything to the class? 
Mats and all equipment are provided. Note: most bring their own mats to the Messing village hall classes but there are mats available. You may prefer to purchase your own products for home practice, you are welcome to enquire. 
 
Jackie aims to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene of all equipment. Shoes are not necessary, either socks (with grip) or bare feet. Please bring a water bottle as required.

Is there parking? 
Yes: There is ample off road parking at all our venues. 
How many sessions will I need? 
Physiotherapy: following a comprehensive assessment, together you will discuss your treatment plan and implement a time frame for achieving your short and long-term goals. 
 
Pilates: following an assessment/screen you will be advised as to the suitability of joining a class or if it is more appropriate to continue with individual sessions before progressing into a class. 
 
If you are looking for a specialist program it will be tailored to your specific needs with a home regime to practice. 
What should I expect when I sign up for Reformer Pilates? 
The Reformer is a one to one session where you will further challenge and experience the benefits of performing movements on a large piece of Pilates equipment while maintaining the basic elements of your mat work Pilates. Close supervision and instruction will allow for planning a specific, goal orientated program. This will to help to improve your ability to perform the movements in a controlled and supported manner.
